On Thursday, May 8th, 2008, Arts Corps threw the Festa of the decade, many thanks to the enthusiastic community of supporters who came out to celebrate.

Arts Corps' 6th Annual La Festa del Arte "Live from the Triple Door" raised an electrifying $190,000 in generous investments. We were all moved, humbled and filled with joy by a spectacular show featuring talented students and teaching artists, followed by Stone Gossard and the Hank Williams Choir.

BIG love and MASSIVE thanks to all who made this incredible evening soar.

With these investments and our collective pool of resources, Arts Corps will have another inspiring year of potent learning through the arts for thousands of students as they engage in creative habits of mind such as imagining possibilities, critical thinking, persistence & discipline, courage & risk-taking and reflection.

Eight years in and standing tall, we're thrilled with the response of our donors and believers in this work. The energy and investments garnered from this night alone will drive our work for the rest of the year to keep it moving and thriving.

Our Annual Student Showcases (one day for elementary school students and one day for middle and high school youth) are our most celebrated events of the year, bringing hundreds of parents and community members together to applaud the talents and honor the courage & risk-taking students manifest on stage and in exhibition. Beyond skills learned in diverse art forms such as break dancing, digital photography, cartooning, mural-making and music performance, students demonstrate creative habits such as imagining possibilities, critical thinking, persistence & discipline, courage & risk-taking and reflection.

Our 2008 Student Showcases yielded a turnout of about 500 students, parents and community members combined from our elementary showcase on March 3^rd and our middle and high school showcase on March 14^th. To view photos from our 2008 Student Showcases, click here.
