Peace...
What is peace?
Is there love?  Is there hate?
Are you all alone?  Are you with many people?
What makes peace so peaceful?

Peace is like the sun,
bright and enjoyed,
as smooth and crisp as the wind,
filled with loved and smiling faces.
It feels as good and as warm as a fire
on a cold, cold day.
You feel protected and cared for,
with so many things to look forward to.

I have never embraced peace,
you took it out of me.
Now peace is like the moon,
dark and alone.
It's as rough and as hard as a road
filled with hate
and frowning faces.
It feels cold and disappointing
with nothing or no one
to look up to.

Peace...
What is peace?
Peace is hope,
little pieces of hope
that I have lost,
but am willing to gain
again.
