Navigate our classes, residencies and workshops.

Arts Corps brings our excellent faculty of teaching artists to schools, community centers and organizations all over King County to teach a range of art forms including dance, music, theatre, poetry/spoken word, digital media and visual arts. Our programming for young people ages 5 to 19 includes after-school classes and in-school residencies, as well as workshops. We also offer professional development opportunities for teaching artists and in-school teachers.

  • After-school and out-of-school classes. Teaching artists instruct in specific art forms to build skills and foster creativity throughout an academic quarter. This type of setting often allows the greatest freedom for the teaching artist and students to engage in creative exploration and project-based learning.
  • In-school residencies. Teaching artists work in partnership with a classroom teacher during school hours for a series of class sessions, to integrate arts into an academic subject or to teach artistic skills and concepts particular to an art form.
  • One-time workshops. These opportunities are designed to introduce students to a specific art form and are often framed around a single art project such as creating a book in a book-making clinic.
  • Professional development. To invest in our faculty and the greater community of educators, Arts Corps offers professional development opportunities for teaching artists and workshops for in-school teachers.
